This editorial policy sets out the rules every page on ArsalanMasood.com follows: who writes and checks the content, where facts come from, how AI tools are used, how independence from advertisers is kept, how pages are updated and corrected, and how sponsored content is labelled. It applies to every guide, review, comparison and deal on the site.
Who is responsible for the content
ArsalanMasood.com is run by Arsalan Masood, who has built websites and worked with WordPress, SEO and digital marketing since 2006, across 500+ web projects. I decide what is published and I’m responsible for everything on the site. You can read more about me and the site on the about page.
Editorial policy: the rules for every page
- Facts from primary sources. Prices, plans, limits, requirements, rules and statistics come from the official source: the company’s own pages, the platform’s documentation, the law or the regulator. Sources are linked on the page with the date they were checked.
- Nothing invented. No made-up statistics, quotes, testimonials, reviews, income figures or coupon codes. If something can’t be confirmed, it isn’t published. Worked examples are clearly labelled as examples.
- Experience first. Advice comes from real website work wherever possible, and pages say when something is based on documentation rather than hands-on use.
- One clear purpose per page. Each page answers one question well and links to the page that covers the next question, instead of repeating it.
- Honest about limits. Pages say who a product or method doesn’t suit, what it costs after the first term, and what can go wrong.
- Plain language. Short sentences, defined terms and step-by-step instructions, so a beginner can follow along.
How AI tools are used
AI tools help with research and first drafts on some pages. They never decide what’s true: every fact on a page is checked against its source, every page is reviewed before it’s published, and I’m responsible for the result. AI is never used to invent experiences, reviews, quotes or results.
Independence from advertisers
The site earns from ads and affiliate links, explained in the affiliate disclosure. That income never changes what’s written:
- No company can pay for a rating, a recommendation or a place in a list.
- Companies don’t review or approve content before it’s published.
- Products without an affiliate programme are covered on the same terms as products with one.
- Affiliate links are marked for search engines with
rel="sponsored". - My own companies, A Digital Motive and DigiFlippers, are always named as mine when they’re mentioned.
How products are tested and scored is explained in detail on how we review.
Sponsored content
If a company pays for a placement, such as a sponsored post or a newsletter mention, it’s labelled “Sponsored” at the top, its links are marked as sponsored, and it still has to be accurate and useful to readers. Sponsors can’t buy a review score. The options are listed on the advertising page.
Updates
Guides, reviews and deals are re-checked when prices, plans, rules or tools change. When a page changes in a meaningful way, its date is updated and a short note says what changed. Deal pages show the date each offer was last seen on the company’s own website.
Corrections
Mistakes are fixed as soon as they’re confirmed. If you find something wrong or out of date, send it through the contact page with the page address and, if you can, the source. Significant corrections are noted on the page.
Comments and reader ratings
Readers can comment and rate reviews. Written comments are checked before they appear, and spam, abuse and personal attacks are removed. Reader ratings are shown separately from my own rating and never change it.
