Ezoic Review (2026): Requirements, Features, EPMV and Payments

My verdict: Ezoic is a machine-learning ad and revenue platform for publishers. Since February 2026, new sites need 250,000 monthly active users; earlier sites are grandfathered. It's free with a revenue share, pays Net 30 from $20, and adds video, rewarded ads and EPMV analytics. Good for large sites; small sites should start with AdSense.

How I tested: Requirements, features and payment terms checked on Ezoic's website and support centre on 11 October 2026, and compared with AdSense, Mediavine and Raptive requirements the same day. No new Ezoic account was opened for this update. The rating is an editorial score from these checks (features, value, terms, fit for bloggers), not a hands-on test.

This Ezoic review starts with the biggest change in its history: since February 2026, Ezoic requires new sites to have 250,000 or more monthly active users. That turns it from the ad network many small bloggers started with into a platform for large sites, plus sites that were already on it. For those sites, Ezoic is still a strong option, with machine-learning ad placements, premium advertisers, video, rewarded ads and detailed revenue analytics. For everyone else, it’s a goal to grow towards rather than a place to start.

Below is how Ezoic works today, who can join, what each feature does, how EPMV is measured, how you’re paid, and who should use it. Every rule and number comes from Ezoic’s own website and support centre, checked on the date at the end.

What Ezoic is

Ezoic is a technology platform for digital publishers. Rather than simply serving ads, it uses machine learning to study how visitors use your site and then automates the work of testing ad placements, choosing which advertisers compete for each slot, hosting video and reporting revenue. It’s a Google Certified Publishing Partner and works with large demand-side platforms, so your ad space reaches many advertisers at once.

Ezoic says it supports every type of website, from blogs and news sites to web tools and apps. The only universal technical requirement is that you can add JavaScript to your site.

You can use Ezoic in 2026 with 250,000+ monthly active users, if your site was on Ezoic before 19 February 2026, or if selected for the Incubator. Not yet if you have under 250,000 monthly users: use AdSense or Journey first and apply to the Incubator.

Who can join Ezoic in 2026

Ezoic’s support centre sets out the current rules:

  • 250,000+ monthly active users for new sites, verified by connecting Google Analytics when you apply.
  • Grandfathered sites: publishers already monetising with Ezoic before 19 February 2026 stay on the platform whatever their size, as long as they keep using it continuously.
  • The 7-day rule: if a grandfathered site under 250,000 users removes Ezoic for more than 7 days, it loses that status and would have to meet the new requirement to return.
  • New sites on old accounts: any site added to an existing account after 19 February 2026 must meet the 250,000-user requirement.
  • The Incubator programme is for growing sites below the threshold. Ezoic selects about 20 sites or apps a month; you apply once, and if your site later passes 250,000 users and meets the other criteria, it’s approved automatically.

Every site must also meet Ezoic’s quality rules, which follow Google’s publisher policies:

  • Original, constructive content: nothing copied, automatically generated, or empty.
  • Reliable traffic sources, and no redirects to unwanted pages, pop-ups or pop-unders.
  • No copyrighted downloads, adult, dangerous, derogatory or threatening content, and no alcohol, tobacco or healthcare-related content.
  • Written in a language AdSense supports.

AdSense approval itself isn’t needed for the vast majority of sites, but your content must follow AdSense policies.

How Ezoic works

  1. Integrate. Ezoic recommends JavaScript integration: a lightweight script in your site’s head. It’s the quickest way to start.
  2. Let it learn. Ezoic says its system generally takes about 30 days to ramp up and gather enough data, and advises against big setting changes during that first month.
  3. Optimise. Its machine learning then tunes ad placements, the competition between advertisers and pricing on each pageview, aiming for more revenue per visitor without hurting the reading experience.
  4. Measure. You follow results in Ezoic’s analytics, especially EPMV (explained below).

Because the system tests and adjusts over weeks, judge Ezoic on a full month or more, not its first few days.

Ezoic’s main features

EzoicAds and Mediation

EzoicAds is the core ad product: machine learning chooses the ad setup for each visitor rather than one fixed layout for everyone. Through Mediation, Ezoic’s premium partners compete against your existing setup, including AdSense, in one auction, so the highest bid wins each slot. Revenue from AdSense through Mediation is paid to you by Google directly.

Rewarded ads

Rewarded ads let visitors choose to watch a short video ad to unlock content or features, instead of a paywall or sign-up. Ezoic’s own example is a 15-second ad to unlock the full article. It suits premium content such as tools, downloads or long guides.

Ezoic Video

Ezoic Video hosts and plays your videos on your own site with premium advertisers built in. You can upload videos or import your YouTube content so it lives on your domain, shown in an in-content or floating player. Ezoic says its video network reaches more than 1 billion people a month, and that keeping viewers on your site raises the value of each session.

ezID

ezID is Ezoic’s first-party identity tool. As browsers phase out third-party cookies, it helps recognise returning visitors from your own data, which makes your ad space more valuable to advertisers while staying privacy-compliant.

Analytics

Ezoic’s Big Data Analytics goes beyond page views: it shows how different visitor segments and content categories perform, and which bring the highest EPMV. That helps you decide what to write more of.

Where Ezoic’s advertisers come from

The more advertisers compete for a slot, the higher the price tends to be. Ezoic brings demand from several directions at once:

  • Header bidding across premium demand partners, in one unified auction with your existing setup through Mediation.
  • Dynamic price floors tuned for each placement, so ad space isn’t sold too cheaply.
  • Direct advertisers and private marketplace (PMP) deals from Ezoic’s own advertiser base.
  • Brand deals found by Ezoic’s in-house sales team; any campaign sold directly runs inside Ezoic with 100% of the revenue paid to you.
  • Supply-path optimisation, which Ezoic says connects demand by the most direct route so more of each ad dollar reaches you.

Ezoic also offers ad formats for web apps, games, newsletters and the free tiers of SaaS products, so it isn’t limited to blogs.

EPMV: how Ezoic measures earnings

Ezoic reports earnings as EPMV: earnings per 1,000 visits. It compares this with the more common RPM, which is revenue per 1,000 pageviews. Ezoic’s view is that EPMV is the more honest measure, because it ties revenue to real visitors rather than to how many pages each one opens.

Example: $50 from 10,000 sessions and 15,000 pageviews$5.00$3.33
Best forComparing ad setups fairlyComparing with most other networks

The example numbers are made up to show the sum. When you compare Ezoic with another network, use the same measure for both: EPMV with EPMV, or RPM with RPM. Ezoic has a free EPMV and RPM calculator for this.

EPMV vs RPM for the same month: $50 divided by 10,000 sessions times 1,000 gives an EPMV of $5.00; $50 divided by 15,000 pageviews times 1,000 gives an RPM of $3.33.
A made-up example: the same earnings look different per visit and per pageview.

Cost and revenue share

Ezoic is free to join with no upfront cost. It works on a revenue-share model and publishes its terms, but not a single fixed percentage on its pages: it earns a share of what your site makes through the platform, so it earns only when you do. Campaigns you sell directly yourself can run inside Ezoic with 100% of that revenue paid to you.

How Ezoic pays

  • Net 30 by default: a month’s earnings are paid at the end of the following month, from the 27th.
  • Bonus terms: choose Net 60 for +1.5% or Net 90 for +2.25%.
  • Minimum: $20 by default; you can raise it.
  • Methods include PayPal, Payoneer and bank transfer.
  • Deadlines: tax and payment changes by the 15th of the month.
  • Mediation: revenue earned through AdSense Mediation is paid by Google AdSense, so you receive two payments.

Speed and reader experience

Ezoic says its machine learning tests placements until user experience and revenue improve together, and that it flags problem ads before visitors see them. Every ad setup adds code to your pages, though, so check your Core Web Vitals in Google Search Console a few weeks after going live, and reduce ad density on any template that slows down. The WordPress SEO tutorial explains the speed targets.

Before you go live

  1. Preview first. Ezoic lets you preview placements and test every format before going live; check your main page templates on a phone as well as a computer.
  2. Keep AdSense competing through Mediation rather than removing it, so you don’t lose its demand.
  3. Write down your current numbers: a full month of earnings, sessions and pageviews, so you can compare EPMV fairly later.
  4. Leave settings alone for the first month while the system ramps up.

If your site is grandfathered: what to do now

Many smaller sites joined Ezoic before the 2026 change and can stay. If yours is one of them:

  • Keep the integration running. Switching themes, moving hosts or testing another network can remove Ezoic’s script by accident; check it after every big change, because 7 days without Ezoic ends your status.
  • New sites don’t inherit it. A new blog added to your account must meet the 250,000-user rule, so plan to monetise it elsewhere until it grows, or apply to the Incubator.
  • Compare before you leave. If you’re tempted by Journey by Mediavine or Raptive, compare a full month of EPMV, ideally the same month a year apart, before removing Ezoic. Leaving is easy; coming back needs 250,000 users.

Ezoic pros and cons

In short: Ezoic’s strengths are its automation, premium demand through Mediation, extra revenue streams (video, rewarded ads) and detailed EPMV analytics. Its weaknesses are the new 250,000-user requirement, no published revenue-share percentage, a ramp-up month, and less direct control over ad placement than a simple setup like AdSense Auto ads.

Is Ezoic right for you?

  • New or small site: no. Start with AdSense and grow your traffic; apply to the Incubator if you’d like a chance at early access.
  • Grandfathered site: keep it running, and compare its EPMV over a full month with what Journey by Mediavine or Raptive would pay before you change anything.
  • 250,000+ monthly users: worth testing, with AdSense competing through Mediation, and keep whichever setup earns more per 1,000 visitors.
  • Video-heavy or tool sites: Ezoic’s video player and rewarded ads can add income other networks don’t offer.

Ezoic review: the verdict

Ezoic remains a capable platform: its machine-learning placements, Mediation auction, video, rewarded ads and EPMV analytics give large publishers real tools to raise revenue per visitor. But the 2026 requirement of 250,000 monthly users means it’s no longer where most bloggers begin. If you qualify, or you’re grandfathered, test it properly over a full month against your current setup. If you don’t, build traffic with AdSense or Journey first, and keep Ezoic as a milestone for later.

Questions people ask

Is Ezoic still available for small sites?

Not as a standard option. Since February 2026, new sites need 250,000 monthly active users. Smaller sites can apply to the Ezoic Incubator, which selects about 20 sites a month, and sites already on Ezoic before 19 February 2026 are grandfathered.

Is Ezoic free?

Yes, there's no upfront cost. Ezoic works on a revenue-share model and earns a share of the revenue your site generates through the platform.

What is EPMV in Ezoic?

EPMV is earnings per 1,000 visits. Ezoic uses it instead of RPM, which is revenue per 1,000 pageviews, because it ties earnings to real visitors.

When does Ezoic pay?

Net 30 by default: a month's earnings are paid at the end of the following month, from the 27th, once you reach the $20 minimum. Net 60 and Net 90 add a small bonus.

Do I need AdSense approval to use Ezoic?

Not for the vast majority of sites, according to Ezoic, but your content must follow AdSense policies and be in an AdSense-supported language.

How long does Ezoic take to work?

Ezoic says its system generally needs about 30 days to ramp up and learn your traffic, and advises not to make major setting changes during that first month.
